Following the introduction of the European Package Travel Directive 2015, new Package Travel Regulations (PTR) will be introduced in 2018. There are some significant changes to the definitions and scope of the requirements and it is likely that many travel companies, particularly travel agents and those selling Flight Plus holidays, will have to adapt their business systems and practices to take account of the new PTR.
The government is now consulting on the final detail of the PTR and changes to the ATOL Scheme and other financial protection arrangements.
ABTA Member and Partner Workshops
ABTA is holding a series of free workshops for ABTA Members and Partners to explain the details of the consultation process; gather your views on the government’s plans; and also to give you give you a good start in your preparations for the PTR.
The workshops focus on those areas that will change most significantly under the new regulations – the scope of regulations and the definitions of the types of holidays affected, but will cover all aspects of the changes to help you prepare.
